Lush green rice terraces in Bali
About us

A small team,
a decade in one place.

Bali Eco Journeys is a Bali-based tour company that runs a deliberately narrow catalog of sustainable experiences, for travelers, and for companies that want a trip with a point.

Our story

We started with one village, and stayed.

Bali Eco Journeys began as a small operator running a handful of day trips co-designed with local communities. Ten years later, we still run most of those same tours, with the same guides, in the same places, at the same small scale.

We've turned down more growth than we've taken. It's the only way to keep our promises to the villages, rangers, and foragers we work with, the people who make any of this worth doing.

Today we're a small in-house team across operations, guiding, and partnerships, supported by a network of Balinese hosts and specialists we've worked with for years.

What we hold to

Our principles

  • Community first, always

Every experience is co-owned with the people who live it. If a partner ever needs us to pause, we pause.

  • Regenerative, not just neutral

We aim to leave places measurably better, trained villages, funded programs, documented knowledge, not just less-bad.

  • Small groups on purpose

We cap our tours where the ecosystem, host, and vibe can hold. Growth is not the goal.

  • Transparent, checkable

We publish who we work with and where fees go. If we can't be honest about it, we don't run it.

Anchor partnership

Bali Waste Management Training Centre

BWMTC

BWMTC is the training facility we work with most closely. It was initiated by the Rotary Club of Bali Denpasar and supported through Rotary Global Grant #2343361, and it trains villages, schools, and businesses to handle their own waste at the source.

BWMTC shapes the sustainability content inside our programs, from waste separation and composting to reuse and family medicinal plant gardens. Bali Eco Journeys designs and runs the programs on the ground.
